Welcome to our new Social Worker, Shamara Innocent! Shamara is a remarkable first-generation Haitian American woman who possesses a deep understanding of the immigrant experience. As the daughter of two Haitian immigrants, Shamara learned early on how to support immigrants in all aspects of their ...lives. Her professional experience includes working with children and their families and providing trauma informed case management and counseling to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Shamara’s personal background and professional experience have uniquely positioned her to bridge the gap between immigrant experiences and trauma-informed care. When she’s not working, Shamara is providing birthing support to expecting mothers or making candles. Welcome to Rian Shamara!

Join us in welcoming Anna Flores-Amper as the new Immigration Legal Services Program Manager for the Massachusetts Immigrant Collaborative! Anna has done capacity building work at various Massachusetts nonprofits to positively impact immigrants seeking safety and refuge. She has also volunteered ...with several nonprofits, including as a volunteer DOJ accredited representative. Her commitment to supporting immigrants has been constant since college, at Yale University, where she earned a BA in psychology, and had a particular interest in child development, Latino mental health, and Latin American film. In her free time, Anna has found a way to turn her love of food into a hobby, through becoming a prolific reviewer on Yelp and subsequently joining the Yelp Elite Squad. Welcome to Rian Anna!
