Sample Bequest Language

Thank you for your partnership with the Rian Immigrant Center and for your interest in joining the Rian Legacy Circle. Below is sample language for various types of bequests. The purpose of this language is to serve as examples only. Please discuss your planned giving intentions with your professional financial and legal advisors. Rian Immigration Center is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization recognized by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are deductible as allowed by law.

PERCENTAGE OF ESTATE – FOR UNRESTRICTED PURPOSES

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the Rian Immigrant Center, Inc, a nonprofit corporation, based in Boston, Massachusetts, ____ percent (%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate as an unrestricted gift to be used at Rian’s discretion. I may choose at a later date to enter into a separate agreement between myself and Rian related to the use of this gift and would request that Rian utilize the gift in accordance with the terms of that agreement.

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the Rian Immigrant Center, Inc, a nonprofit corporation, based in Boston, Massachusetts, ____ percent (%) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used for __________. It is understood and agreed that should the purpose for which this bequest is instituted cease to exist, then Rian may devote said bequest for such other uses and purposes as it determines to be in accordance with my original intent in making this gift.

SPECIFIC AMOUNT – FOR UNRESTRICTED PURPOSES

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to the Rian Immigrant Center, Inc, a nonprofit corporation, based in Boston, Massachusetts, the sum of _____ dollars ($) as an unrestricted gift to be used at Rian’s discretion. I may choose at a later date to enter into a separate agreement between myself and Rian related to the use of this gift and would request that Rian utilize the gift in accordance with the terms of that agreement.
