Kevin F. Mawe, Rian's Executive Director, has two Haitian-American grandsons. They have never met their other grandfather or their uncles in person, because Haiti has been too dangerous to visit for years.
In a new piece for MassNonprofit News, Kevin writes about TPS and the other protections that exist for people who are vulnerable through no fault of their own: crime victims, abuse survivors, and young people who were neglected or abandoned. The Trump administration has moved against nearly all of them.
At Rian, we help people who qualify for these protections receive what the law promises them. Kevin calls this work "quintessentially patriotic."
